FDA-cleared Fraxel re:pair laser represents a new treatment paradigm. Built by the same company that pioneered non-ablative fractional laser treatment, the Fraxel re:pair laser is an entirely new CO2 laser device, combining the efficacy of ablative procedures with the safety of a fractional treatment modality.
Clinical results are dramatic - treatments are well-tolerated with substantially reduced patient downtime compared to bulk ablative skin resurfacing. Removal of lax tissue may produce overall skin tightening similar to CO2. These benefits are achieved with significantly reduced pain, recovery time and risk of adverse reaction with respect to the side effects typically associated with conventional CO2 laser devices.

During treatment, skin is ablated in microscopic treatment zones (MTZ) leaving a significant amount of surrounding tissue untreated. This precise tissue targeting and deliberate tissue sparing provides a significant advantage in wound healing, with dramatically reduced healing time and less post-operative wound care. The Fraxel re:pair laser delivers microscopic spots, creating small columns of skin that are ablated during treatment up to a depth of 1.6 mm.
